Bhagavad Gita is a part of Mahabharata, an Epic from India (400BC).The first Sloka of Bhagavad Gita is very interesting, its the beginning and the ignition of all the existing troubles or conflicts which we come across in human life.
There are different ways to approach BG. This can be grammatical, historical, spiritual aspects etc. The most interesting would be the analytical aspect.
It was never meant to be passed BG over to the generations, just as a story. There is more inner meaning, than just a discussion between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. It was many times shown up like, Arjuna was unable to perform as a soldier and Krishna gave him some counseling and he got ready for the battle and they won!!.It has been well explained in 13 chapters about the war in Mahabharata, and it would a pity to consider BG as a war story.
The universal mind, which reside inside us to give answers to the questions which arises on difficult/tough times. Thats BG. when you are able to listen to to this there begins the change.
It is said in Mahabharata, for what all those stories are narrated. He mentioned it as stories and are about those famous kings and emperors, and the purpose is we have to understand the meaning/ the knowledge out of it which will lead you to Vairagya. It’s a quality, which one has to acquire, to say no to certain things, which you are running for in life. Just to have a slow pace. To set aside the good spiritual values than material gains.
The stories are some how exaggerations, could not be real. It has two dimensions, Macro or material level and Subtle level. In macro level, you can see in the outside world. You can see all the characters in BG when you look inside yourself and even more, which denotes the Subtle level. Its the Third eye, the eye for realization- to see beyond.
As we know, BG is from Ithihasa(epic) Mahabharata. The meaning of Ithihasa is which contains values. The most of the values of Mahabharata stays at BG. The principles of BG is to go beyond the normal evolution principle which is from monkey to human, BG is intend to make the evolution from Human to God realization. The God inside us, the realization I am not different, I belong to the oneness . Simply Oneness!!
The name of the chapter is Arjuna Vishaada Yogam ,the sadness(Vishaada) which Arjuna has given him Yogam, normally sadness would lead to disease here it makes the difference. How could that be possible, someone’s sadness is leading to realization. In other words, its happening in daily life, we got though different difficult situations which may vary in intensity an duration. BG is there to make realization and to become a better human though its deeper analysis of mind, feelings, thoughts, ego, intellect, soul and more.
DHARMA: after creating the Universe by the Supreme for the protection and the wellbeing of the same explained the action protocol (Pravriti: taking responsibility and necessary action ) and Nivruthi(retiring from the action and reposing in the self) protocol, as by Vedas. Dharma is the reason for the existence of the Universe and responsible/ cause for all living organism’s prosperity, positive development, wellbeing, harmonious living together, peace. Because of this dharma the universe exists, if on that dharma the universe exist.. then who am I? I am the Dharma. What happened to my Dharma ? or what is happening inside me? is the essence of BG. It has to be questioned by everyone, who are open for a positive change in their life.
what holds together the universe, that’s dharma which is the Brahma(eternal truth). when some stays at this principle, then his body is dharmakshetra(place where dharma happens). Its achieved through the knowledge obtained from real Gurus, listening and understanding contemplation of the same to realize am the the eternal truth, or the trail to accept and go though the path of realization.
When against this process, Kama (desires in a broader appearance) and so on comes our body then it is Kurukshetra, we are doing things like machine with out realization. With out pure or real knowledge, which cause internal conflicts, fights or what ever name we can put for .
Its then beginning, which I mentioned as a ignition key for the problems!!!
DHRITHARASHTRA: Simply said as blind. It is one who is able to see things as it is, or the way it has to be. It means more a spiritual or evolved view point.I could see the things lets say, when I see some flowers I would think about how to make business out of it, I could also view through the eyes of a poet. Its staying at different dimensions, that’s the blindness. If we are along with these kind of blind people, we will also have to close our eyes, so we let others to do the things. Sometimes we may say, if I wouldn't have closed eyes towards that , it would be a different story.
Sometimes, we may say, I know what is good and what is not good. I know the same as you too, but the world is going along with desires/ selfishness and I am also going along with the same.
you know at times we often hear this kind of discussions, “why the things are going like this in your office. Oh, when I came here it was even worse. I would not be able to change it, though I want to make some change it won’t happen. So I am also just going along with it!!”
In other words, the person is having real good clarified knowledge, but unable to make it happen in action. This aspect of human is so dominant in the present. He knows the dharma, but not able to act. Knows Adharma(opposite of Dharma) but unable to stop doing it. In other words, strictly holding on things, though it do not belong to him. We can see that in different aspect of life. Though we know, the kids do not belong to us, but we just hold them tight as MINE blindly. The kids has to do as I wish, they are made to obey my wishes. They just have taken a route through us to come to the world.
This Dhritharashtra attitude can stay at persons, things, ideologies. My mother, my friend, my politics, my car, my nation, my color, my religion and so on. The never ending MINE thesis!! This at an another level can lead to extremist in patriotism, which is a growing concern in present.
How one can get out of this, is to realize am not the body, mind, intellect and ego aspect then you get free from D attitude.
With this sloka, it should take us the path to end the D quality, we all have to ask this question to ourselves.
The seat of Dharma, the body what I have done by- My people, mine, my things and the endless associates.…. MINE principle. So like so the one who spends money too much unwisely or say unwanted, arrogant scolding, the unlimited bad qualities. 101 represent the unlimited bad qualities, which are coming in relation to the MINE principle.
At your tongue stays your friend and your enemies too.
When all belongs to Bhrahma, the supreme the purpose of life is to realize that I am the same principle as along with the Universe.what I have done with the MINE principle? the unlimited feelings and thought process associated with it?
The bad qualities inside us, the unlimited what they have done?
On these aspect, what have been done by my good qualities which are there to fight against the above??
The spiritually matured qualities are 5 in numbers. They are said as Paandava, the five warriors. What they have done? Though when you made a bad command, did my good qualities intend to say or said a true sorry to what you have made?
1.dharma like son, so close and import
2.the clarity in action, the direct way of doing things
4.same like God, the interest to know more about the spiritual aspect. Or getting there.
5.beyond cast, religion, ancestry etc. No partition in the name of any thing. No religion no cast, when we realize that then we are Brahma.
Those values what they have done opposite to them. Or did I made any good valued action. I am here, and supported by the whole universe. What I am having, is the effect of the things which others have done before. When you think about what I have done in the past?
does there stays some thing good? or was it all unvalued actions? at least planted a tree??
when we remember our past, there were any fruitful actions??
On these kind of conflictual times, stressful times my feelings and thoughts ..
Then where it comes, words are coming from your thoughts. words are your action, actions leads to behavior. Thats makes your culture.
So a culture is created or formulated from thoughts. There stays the importance of those scrips. So we have to be that much careful with our thoughts. There is no value for punishment, threatening etc. The change has to come from inside, the change in your thoughts. The feeling and thought process to the inside and outside world. Ultimately there is one. We have to have modalities which will make our thoughts more refined, more purity….
Dhramaksetra, which is in us. It is more in a subtle level
Kurukshetra, means on your action areas. more on a broader dimension, physical-
The point from words to action, the action process. what I have done.
The process of action from intellect to mind to senses in action…
What I am doing on my action areas? what the MINE principle is doing there??for my only my things!!
You often hear, thats not my problem.! don't matter, what is happening to the others!!
I have to go to club, I have to make more money, I have to enjoy, I want it in that way and so on….
do I have this MINE thoughts on my actions?? where I am running to? Its the time to think. This realization is enough to make a change. What my good qualities have done opposite to them? the 5!
We are created to make Karma(actions), what I could have done, what I can do?
when I do things for me, which should also be comfortable to the others. This the evolution to the God inside us.
From Guru and scientific/ spiritual knowledge which makes him, who have lose MINE principle on External factors, thats the victory.
To conclude, what I have done with D attitude MINE principle on my Dharmakshetra, and what my 5 qualities have done opposite to that.
What I have done on Kurukshetra with MINE attitude and what what my 5 qualities have done opposite to that!!!!
Ask to yourself..
It will open the door to pure realization !!!!
